What Your First Lesson Is Like

If you've never done this before — or it's for a child who's a little shy — here's exactly what to expect. No audition, no pressure, nothing to prepare.

For anyone who's a little nervous

Almost everyone is, on the way to a first lesson — the adult who feels silly starting at forty, the parent unsure whether their child will sit still, the returner embarrassed at how much they've forgotten. You don't need to read music, own a piano, or play a single note beforehand. The first lesson exists to take the pressure off, not to add to it.

We met Ms Ceren about two years ago; thanks to her, my daughter came to love the piano. She is a teacher who can connect with every age group. So glad she touched our lives ❤️🙏Ms Işıl, Melisa's (5) Mother

Step by step

What actually happens in 25 minutes

We start by just talking — what drew you to music, what you'd love to be able to play, whether you've done any of this before. Then you try the instrument: a few notes, a melody you know, or I'll guide your hands if it's all new. I'll show you one small thing so you leave having actually made music. By the end we both have a feel for whether it's a fit — and there's no obligation either way. You decide in your own time.

First Lesson Questions

Nothing at all — just come as you are. If you already play a little and want to bring a piece, wonderful, but it's completely optional.

That's exactly who trial lessons are for. We start from the very first note, and you'll be making a sound you're proud of before you leave.

Yes — a free 25-minute lesson at the studio, with no obligation. Home visits, including an in-home trial, are available only on request with an individual quote.

Very normal. I keep the first lesson gentle and playful, and you're welcome to stay in the room. Many shy children warm up the moment they hear the first note.
